Master Cylinder - 200Q20VTQ made of unobtanium?

I had a bad experience after I bought a rebuilt MC for my old 5000 Avant  
from a local auto parts store.
 
Installed it and about 4 months later a plastic plug that was screwed into  
an extra brake line hole on the MC blew out when I was driving during a  
blizzard.  Lost all breaking.  Went back to where I bought it and they  gave 
me another one.  It has a steel plug in the extra hole instead of  plastic.
