yeah, i saw that one. it's the guy's car, he can do whatever he wants obviously, but... 

why kill a rare car? secondly, why go through the hassle of tearing it apart? the only part worth a damn is the engine. and even those have lost value (can get one for $1,000 these days). and maybe $300 for the tranny. not gonna get much for the rest of it - the labor involved to take parts off and ship is a low return endeavor IMHO.

in which case, just sell the whole damn car for $1,500 and let it live another day.

unless he's hard up for money and must maximize his return - in which case, i understand. it's a tough economy out there...

Mine has almost 100k more miles and is still running strong.  Just bought 42
bundles of firewood at Home Depot.  Don't need no stinkin SUV.

I have a good running 1991 200 Turbo Quattro 20 valve Avant for sale whole
if I can get a decent offer for it.   If I don't get a decent offer I will
part her out.   If she is parted EVERYTHING will be available for
purchase.---The car is a strong runner with about 159K miles.   No mods
ever, just 100% stock.  Everything works mechanically and electrically.
Transmission is smooth shifting and clutch grabs nicely.----Pearl white
paint is in pretty good shape considering he age.---Blck SPORT seat
interior.  Drivers bolster has a inch long split formed.--Some rust on the
drivers fender and rocker panels.  Rust spot on ear hatch lid.---Tires are
pretty much shot and she needs new UFOs rotors or do a g60 swap and save
yourself some money.---Check out the pics and email me for any other pics
you want.---
