That is not necessarily true.
There could be a internal circlip that is not accessible once everything
is slid together.
I don't know that to be the case here, but it is certainly possible.
I know the end of a VW fox manual steering rack has an end cap that is
held in place with an internal snap ring that does not have holes for
snap ring pliers. Is it possible to get it out? Maybe, but a real pain
in the ...
