Fuel Injector Seat Removal

Removing the seats? All I can say is good luck. I'd love to find out how others have done it. They screw in, there's an allen hole right in the middle but it won't get you anywhere. When you try twisting it, the hole will start rounding. They won't come out without picking them apart piece by piece. Even then the leftover plastic in the threads won't budge. They are like trying to pick glued in parts. I'm sorry, I don't know an easy way. They're a nightmare!

Subject: Fuel Injector Seat Removal

I'm replacing the injector seals and seats on my '91 20v and need wisdom on
removing the injector seats. They appear to be baked in pretty good and are
resisting removal. Are they a press fit or the screw-in type?

It is clear from the condition of the injector seals that they have been
blowing and may be the cause of the recent acceleration hiccups. I can't
understand why they are blowing because they are original equipment from new
and only have 315,000 miles on them. I also am sending the injectors to the
hospital for reconditioning.
