I've had lots of missing under boost issues over the years, and so far, it's
never been more than a basic issue:
Vag-com isn't going to help much if your computer is not throwing codes.
Bad coil -swap and test
bad plug or gap spec - sand paper and re-gap
Test resistance on your wires and clean contacts
Sandpaper your cap and rotor or replace. Is it the correct rotor? Are there
arc trails on the cap? Run the car (parked) with the lights out in a dark
place or at night and look for discharge leaks at the cap/wires/plugs.
Oil leaks - is oil leaking on your plugs and wires? Past your distributor
shaft seals?
Vacuum leaks? This one can be tricky. Check your fuel injector seals for
leaks! They all dry out and leak eventually! Check lines at the back of the
head.
Unplug your o2 sensor.... Does it still miss? Does it miss worse? Your
likely running lean so see vacuum leaks above.
Does a good dose of injector cleaner make ANY difference? Good, run some
more through.
Read this intro (Link below) and consider the basics first. You will save
yourself big$ AND TIME. A lot of expert techs look for the exciting problems
and don't really check the basics. COMMON THINGS HAPPEN COMMONLY...
