rear window defroster

hi all,

seems the flat small rectangular conductor that affixes to the rear window for the defroster has separated from the connection point on the rear window. how do you get it back on? seems you can't solder the underside of the connector and if you glue it - how will the two sides make contact? hopefully this makes some semblance of sense.
