Good points and good writing.

Toyota screwed up by not nipping the problem in the bud before it grew out of control.
Politics is destined to bring the company to its knees, at least in the short run - of
course the folks that will pay for it will be the ones who can least afford it - the
workers, not the corporate officials who pretty much tried to sweep the problem under
the rug.

I believe a combination of problems will come to light when the investigation is
complete. It will likely be a compound problem of sensors, drive by wire control unit
code, and mechanical hangups.

For what it is worth, I have begun my rant about the decline and fall of
vaunted Toyota "quality" at www.acadiareaders.com.

Probably worth nothing, but then again, at least it keeps me off the streets
and out of the bars and other places of ill repute.
