Shameless self promotion

I have updated www.acadiareaders.com a bit, including the long overdue essay
about the development of Japanese industrial quality following the end of
WWII, with specific reference to Toyota.

If you are hanging around waiting to turn the clocks ahead reading with
resulting comments will be appreciated as always.

And yes, I am going to work with the webmaster on the format of the
headings...although I fear that that will mean an entire site change. Sigh.
It's one of those pesky tecchie kinds of things....

In other news, we went to Boston to an energy trade show this week. The
first time that I have had the V8 out for any length of run in quite a long
time. The run down and in to the City of Boston was for me, the first time
in the city in more than ten years. It is hard to believe, but it is true,
and so much had changed with the completion of Boston's "Big Dig" and the
amazing way that travel in to and through the city has really been improved
from the bad old days.

We saw a few A8 and A8L's, but not a single V8 in the entire round trip of
almost five hundred miles.

Naturally, the V8 performed perfectly. Average speed for the Interstate
portion of the trip was around 72 miles per hour (per the computer), and
fuel consumption was between 23 and 24.5 miles per gallon. Fuel mileage
drops over 70 I find, but oh, doesn't the car just love to cruise up above
eighty!
