what's more important is that the K24 can't flow much more than about 280HP - 
equivalent of about 21-22psi of boost.

sure, you can beat the living piss out of it and eek out 300HP - but you will 
kill the turbo rather quickly from my understanding.

next up is the pipeline is the stock distributor starts misfiring after 350HP - 
i guess you go electronic ignition? anybody?

after that the 3B should be good for close to 500HP with stock internals (would 
probably need and RS2 equivalent manifold this that point as well) - then you 
need thicker connecting rods.

crank should be good for 700HP from what i've heard.

headers off.
