Clutch slave connector hose.

Tony,

Do you recall if the hose ends were same on each end? It would be better if I can make
up a line without removing the one in the car first.

I was contemplating just using brake lines with adaptors - don't know why they have such
a crazy line that twists.

Wondering if the larger line fittings will work. Anyone know if/what off the shelf can
be used. It is pretty much a brake line - solid piece about 10" bent and other end
rubber ending in a captive nut. Would seem to me I could use the larger fitting 12mm
inverted flare? with whatever thread size is used and other end is a question until I
remove it. I was hoping to at least find a sample in my parts, but no dice.

The big problem I am having with this job overall is every time I run into a snag I need
to travel to home base to source a fix then go back and test it.

I'm tempted to make a single line that goes from master to slave.

Ben

AFAIK, its dealer only. BTDT x 3. You might be able to get a hose shop to make it from
your ends.

Looking for the hydrulic pressure line that connects to the slave cylinder - 200Q20V
Quattro, but should be same as 5000 431-721-464, 465B or 477.

This may be a dealer only part, but trying to see who else might sell this. ETKA calls
it a connector hose.

I would have made one up - siubstiotuted brake line/fittings, but is a larger inverse
flare fitting. If I can make one up, which may be a lot quicker than waiting for a
shipped part, and cheaper - what are the fitting sizes?

I'm still struggling with a workaround on the slave clyinder rod-length issue when I
installed V8 trans in 200Q. I think I used the wrong pressure plate and was trying a
longer rod. It may have been that I had a bad hose (balloning) but that does not jibe
with my overall experience. The hose bursted when I tried a longer rod - for some
reason the pedal was rock hard, even though I made the rod appropriate length longer to
compensate and most probably not related to the longer rod, unless there is something
else I'm missing..

Anyway, I know I need the hose, and may need to pull the trans. again to rectify an
underlying problem, so just the facts - where to get the hose for least cost. This job
has cost more than the car will be sold for if I account the time I have spentm so not
looking to get a dealer hose that will likely cost more than a simple rubber brake hose
ought to.
