I wouldn't even think about trying to do this with a full tank 
(unless it's a real emergency/no-start situation). Getting the pump 
(twist-lock) to release is a one-handed procedure, and if there's a 
full tank, that one hand is trying to grip and twist while immersed 
in a liquid.  Another good reason to use the special removal tool.
