Poor running 3B

when I say i taste fuel, I dont get a mouthful of it, I just taste the flavor of 
it. So Im not sure there is actual liquid in that line, I dont think so. But 
either way i dont *think* i should taste any fuel in there at all (should i?) 

I did run it without the line attached, and quite honestly, it didnt make any 
difference.  Or if it did, it wasnt very noticeable. Ill try grabbing one 
tomorrow from FLAPS but I doubt they'll have it. 

The fact that I can keep sucking air through it at all means I should likely 
replace it anyway, so its not exactly wasted money.

IF you are tasting gas in that line, and you can continue sucking,
then yes, the FPR is bad. It's got a rubber diaphram and a spring.
That diaphram seals the fuel side from the vacuum side. Have you
started the engine without that hose connected? Sounds like it's
sucking straight fuel in there, which will definately cause a rich
idle. In fact, it will be rich all the time, but especially noticable
at idle, where that quantity of fuel is a much greater percentage
higher than what's actually called for.

There is a procedure in the Bentley on how to test the MAF. Don't have
that volume, so I can't give specifics :(
