Hi Bernie and Adam,
I have used the heat method (Acetylene torch-"fire wrench") and welded a
bolt or socket on in the past (AC-DC welder-- no TIG or MIG), but agree that
Bernie's suggestion should work given a TIG/MIG welder as heat is more
localized and simpler to do (less chance of starting the car on fire...)

Don’t drill it out if you have access to a TIG or MIG welder. Just
build up the end of the stud until there is enough to get a vice grip
on it. The heat will have freed it and it will spin right out.
