  Yes, it is leaking but I thought the high pressure was in the front half of 
the pump, pump to bomb for the brake booster.

Don't do that, to much pressure on that hose.  Is it leaking?
 
I had one made for $30.  They did not put the muffler off the old hose  in the 
new hose, so I here a little more groaning noise when turning the wheel  when 
stopped.  Been on the car for 50k and no issues with the hose.
