Fuel pump check valve and other sundry items

Fuel pump check valve as I suspected was stuck open causing hot start issues
as it wasn't holding pressure in the lines. Finishing up painting brake and
other parts due to corrosion. The last of the used and new parts are
inbound. We pulled the car out in the sunlight yesterday and washed it top
bottom and inside.
One question: this car got caught in a construction zone for my house where
the pumper truck spattered it in a bunch of places. That was a long time
ago. I can chip the bits of concrete off of all the plastic and glass parts
of the exterior of the car but not off the paint easily. Any ideas how to
remove concrete bits? Thoughts I have had are a vibrating engraver to
explode the chips off the surface, muriatic acid, tapping with hammers to
break it up... Nothing has been what I would say, effective as yet.
