Matt -
This engine had hydraulic lifters and it was heavier than 3600 lbs, more
like 3800-3900 lbs. I still have all the original sales literature at home,
etc. Hell, I have all the Audi sales lit from 1984 on to the mid 90's... I
was silly that way. I bought an 84 4KQ new, an 86 5000S, an 88 5000S avant,
and finally my 91 200Q 20V sedan. All the 5000/200 series had mineral oil
related pump and rack failures and replacements.
This was the most evolved 5 cylinder motor for production that Audi had made
up until that time. I remember that there was a special launch event for the
dealers to attend regionally, and it was a big deal model, all 1695 of them
or so that were imported.
