Have you built a boost tester out of a rubber boot with a truck tire fill
on it. Build on at (look at SJM site) I think its three, if not E-mail me.
Cost less than $10 to make and is a quick test of your intake hoses and
vacuum hoses, do not but more that 15 PSI into it for the test.

Mike: Thanks for your suggestion. I've done that, but absolutely no
change.

Adam: I haven't tried to pull codes before, but will do that this weekend.
I'm going to make a home-made LED lamps for it. Hope it works.

Thanks for the heads up. Shin

Shin-

Sounds like the car is in limp mode, or the bypass valve is stuck, or in
backwards. Start by pulling the codes, then start taking crap apart. Do you
have a code chart? See SJM autoteck if not.

One thing you can do is to pinch off the hose from the WGFV to the WG
with a pair of vice grips or something. Be *very* careful if you try
that as the WG will not open, but if it gives you more than 1.0 boost,
you know where to start looking. Broken WG spring, torn diaphragm, bad
WGFV (but they usually fail with about 1.3 bar). A hose can look OK
when inspecting it and can still be bad under boost. I would think you
would hear a boost leak if that was the case. Prime suspects would be
the hose that runs up to the bottom of the BPV or the michelin man hose
on the bottom side.

Take the cap off the WG and look inside.
