Trying my patience...

Ok, replaced two fuel lines. Blue point bubble flare tool works OK, with
careful attention to detail.
Fixed drivers door exterior handle operation (third time for this car it
seems)
Fix for exhaust leak incoming.
Starter fix appears to be lasting.
Still need to fix one headlight full of water, and replace the adjuster
screws somehow.
Tried to extract headliner in one piece so I could paint it, or somethin'
Good F'in luck! I was not in a proper mood, or sufficient time to do that.
So now I own a pile of torn cardboard covered in orange sticky was-foam, and
an avant with no headliner. Oh,
Managed to clean all the sticky was-foam off the seats with mineral spirits.
What a mess.
In the process I found several wires in the rear hatch feed lines that have
lost their insulation.

Looks fine, if you don't look up!
Still drives fine too
Maybe one more year.

The old avant is really pushing it’s luck now. Maybe 200K is a suitable
end.
This summer the headliner failed, all over.
Got an exhaust leak at the cat to pipe connection.
The plastic headlight adjusters failed, leaving my headlights flopping free.
One headlight filled with water, and went out.
Nice little paint bubbles on the rear hatch turned into holes in the sheet
metal.
The rebuilt rear brakes I did last year are failing already – lets do it
again!
Starter failed on Thursday – Fixed and re-installed it this weekend (rainy
days are good for some things), Yay! – then I pulled the car out of the
garage, and found a gas leak. Need to replace 2 of the hard lines.

Noticed a nice 03 A4 for sale nearby. Though it seems that was a bad year.
Give me strength.

If I wasn’t trying to finish re-siding and roofing my house before the snow
flies, I wouldn’t mine all your little issues so much.
It’s me, not you, really.
