thanks phil - if if it's a sensor/switch, it will be this thing . and only this thing. i'll replace the relay too. i'd rather not be cheap with $5-$10 parts only to have the thing overheat!

Re: auxilary fan acting up
My recollection is that it's the only sensor (switch) in/on the
radiator. Location is immediately below the lower radiator hose. Easy
to see, but hard to get at. The relay is presumably #2 and/or #3 in
the fuse box. They are identical and both labelled as being for
"fan".

to confirm is the below fan switch the
same as the radiator temp sensor? or is that another
part?

Should be the fifth relay
down.

That is the correct fan switch. Might
check teh connections at the fan switch, and also check out where your
relay plugs in. I just replaced a fusebox on a customers 200 since his
fan relay melted, and took out the fusebox with it :(

Glad to hear it's been running
right.

and if you remember me complaining sometimes i felt i wasn't getting
the full boost benefit of the car's dyno tuned 034 stage 1 chip? my
friend also replaced the cap, rotor, wires and plugs. the plugs have
been replaced before, but apparently the cap, rotor and wires WERE
ORIGINAL! car has 119k on the clock.
