brake cables

Yeh, I am. In the case of my last replacement cables (the "too short" kind), my driver side cable froze up after just a couple of years, and I recall the boot was already torn by then. The pass. side boot was OK at that point, and I assumed the torn driver-side boot damage might have been "induced" by the difficulty of fitting the short cable. However the boot failure I had might just be a matter of the cables having an extra-vulnerable boot (design).

I assume that if water gets inside there will be also be corrosion problems after a while.
