Jay, I removed the fuel rail from my friends (Judd) 3B & my own, purchased & modified a pair of metal valve stems, drilled holes in the top/center of each fuel rail, Judd silver soldered the stems in place reassembled both vehicles.
Now fuel pressure checks are quick and easy.
I can E/Mail you a photo if you like?

Subject: Warm start

I just did some poking around the fuel system on a warm start issue.
Cold start is fine although there is a slight idle variation adjustment
cycle right after start and it seems to almost dump it's idle on some
couple minute schedule and recover and run normally.
I tried to find a way to adapt my CIS pressure gauges to this car and I
couldn't find a way to do it with the adapters I have.
I cracked the fittings on the fuel filter to check if it was restricted
in any way and it wasn't but there was no residual pressure with a few
minutes of running normally. I think this points to my brand new fuel
pump check valve being stuck open again or maybe has a flake of
something stuck in it.
The question is can the fuel pressure regulator stick open and kill rest
pressure? Will get a gauge set as soon as possible to verify and I will
take the FPR off as well to inspect.
