Got me another 20V

Regarding the oil pressure sending unit question:
In regards to access, it is poor, I found access to be be better from below, I found it easier to remove (and discard) the original sending unit with "Slip Joint Pliers" after having removed items as needed to gain access.
A couple years ago i tried an aftermarket sending unit, only lasted a few Months compared to the original.
Step back a couple more years...
I had already swithed out the original Black factory gauge faceplates (4-on the left / coolant temp, tach, speedo & fuel level ) with White units from a S4 guage cluster leaving the 3-gauges on the right Black. I had a used Nordskog Red digital Voltmeter  (NLA) laying around, so I  disassembled & modified  it and made a clean install in place of the original Black analog Voltmeter.
I tried to locate the same brand of Boost & Oil Pressure guages without any luck.
I  found Glowshift Red Digital Oil Pressure &  Boost  Guages to be  a suitable choice to replace the existing Oil Temperature  & Oil Pressure Guages respectively.
Back to the oil pressure sending unit issue:My choice for the oil pressure gauge was the PSI unit that includes 1/8-27 NPT Electronic Oil Pressure Sensor.Rather than simply swapping out the new sensor for the original (location), I chose to relocate it to a Glowshift "Sandwich Adapter" (3/4-16) at the oil filter stand and using the short oil filter that the 2.7T engine uses. In place of the  original sensor location I installed the small single pin (brown or blue 0.25 or 0.30 bar) oil pressure sender.I extended the existing pressure guage wire forward and behind the rear timing belt cover over to the oil filter location.I have found both of the Glowshift Guages to be accurate  (Note: calibration screw provided to set "Zero").
I would be happy to send photos of the completed installation if anybody is interested?

Congrats Eric!
And thanks for keeping these wheels rolling. Not easy, especially in California.  How about the Cats on the donor?  Where they ever replaced, and, maybe relatively fresh?

ALSO, any body have ANY experience replacing Oil Pressure Sender?  Can't find the process anywhere and all I know is that it is a bitch to see, much less get at!.

Thanks-

Just received my title for the 200 20v I bought! Original owner: was titled
@ 104 miles in Dec 1991! He also sent the original window sticker and
original bill of sale.. Awesomeness!

Now to figure out transport from almost the other coast to NY. What a
nightmare... So many brokers, so many scams, and the more research I do the
more worried I get.. Did a little more homework and inquiring within the
automotive community, have some different things to try. Probably ten years
ago I would have flown, then drove home. But, current medical issues and
being a little wiser has nixed that. Not worth saving even 4-5 hundred by
driving 2700 miles!

Plan is to use my 450k (DD) 20v as a parts donor. Ten years worth of driving
with lot's of upgrades along the way. Upgrades will go into the glacier
blue/nautical sport seat clean car! Has what looks to be zero rust and in
really great condition (131k)

Owner is traveling so I have until the second week of Feb to secure
shipping. Purchase price and shipping is a little more than I wanted to
spend, but how often do you find an original owner mostly garage kept car!
(still has the original Bose radio, non-functioning of course)

I've thoroughly sorted out my current driver over the years, but the
Northeast undercarriage rust is a deal breaker! Will be having some
questions once I get and dig into this new one.. So glad the list is back,
didn't want to go elsewhere as I've been here for the last 3 type 44's, and
also two of my sons 44's!

Cheers, Happy New Year,

Eric
