[A4] headlight washers

I'm planning on disconnecting my headlight sprayers, removing them 
completely from the bumper...

The hose that goes from the headlight washer tank, to the headlight washers 
is only connected to a nipple on the tank (as much as I can see)...But, I 
can still see a sensor that's on the nipple part, would I be able to just 
pull the hose off? Would the sensor still send fluid to the headlight hose 
if its not there?
Or should I just remove the entire pump?
