[A4] estimates for control / ball joints

Well, the front end clunking is back and this time it's not under
warranty.  So, what I am in for?  I have a '99 A4 1.8t with about 85k
miles on it.  I know the original CA's were replaced at about 35k miles
under warranty.

Has anybody done this themselves?
What are the costs involved for parts?
What kind of time did it take and what level of difficulty?
