[A4] i'm buying a new A4

i prefer to lease. i like having a new car. at this point in
uncertain oil supplies, changing diesel regulations, and rapidly advancing
alternative fuels, i don't want to be stuck trying to sell a gasoline
powered car in 2-5 years as i believe values will plummet.

basically, with a lease, you only pay for the amount of the car you
use. when the terms come do, you give it back. i like to use these numbers
for example:

	$30k car:

to buy, you make $30k worth of payments and then you own it. you
try to sell it to get some of that equity back, say $15k. you've spent
$15k - if you can get someone to give you $15k for the car, used.

to lease, you make $15k worth of payments over X number of years.
at the end, the dealer takes it back. there is no concern over what you
can get for it on the open market. there's no hassle of trying to find a
buyer. and your payments were half as much since you weren't paying for
the half of the car you were going to sell later.

you can generally afford twice as much car when you lease, since
you are only making payments on about half its value. furthermore, it's
generally not much of an increase on your payments to add options.

so, i have a totally loaded and plush $43k audi A4 avant, for a
monthly payment of $360 with $3000 down. in two years, i'll take it back
to the dealer, and get a brand new car once again, with whatever new and
exciting features they're offering at that time. i look forward to a
future of this.
