I haven't seen a response on this, so I'll give you my
non-EE 2 cents.  I'd run a big, fused wire (10 gauge?)
from the alternator (or remote battery post under the
hood, if the A4 has one) to the cabin. I'd also relay
it so it only comes on with the ignition; otherwise
you'll forget it's on and you'll wake up to a dead
battery.
