[A4] Fuse problem?

Hello all,
  Has anyone else had a problem with fuses failing prematurely? I've had an experience of my windshield washer pump ceasing to work due to what has turned out to be just a fuse, thankfully. But, it's happened twice now and that make me wonder if I may be dealing with something such as a short. The service manager at the dealer has been great to me - he replaced the fuse himself without requiring me to bring the car in for the day, and even gave me a free replacement fuse in case it happened again. Nice as that is, I hope this isn't a trend. Anyone else experienced this? My car is a 2002 A4 Quattro.
