[A4] radio question

I hope you get some responses.  I've already gone
through one CD changer, and the second one is skipping
after 2 years since replacement by dealer.  An IPOD
would be the ideal solution.

Is it possible that it is the CDs themselves are
getting ruined by sitting in the changer in Houston
(and prior Atlanta) hot weather?  They seems to play
fine in the house, just not in the car.
