[A4] Brakes & Rotors..

I don't know about the Audi stuff but when I replaced the front rotors on my
VW Corrado I used some slotted rotors (ATE Power Disk) and Ferodo RedBox
pads because they were cheaper than the factory ones and they seemed like it
would be a worthwhile upgrade. Even if it didn't help my braking performance
(it may have, but it just as easily could have been me really *wanting* it
to be better :) it didn't hurt it and there was no squeal / squeak.
So, overall I would say that you shouldn't dismiss slotted rotors out of
hand - sometimes aftermarket stuff is better than OEM. Just my $.02 - YMMV.
