Ken,

I think you can DIY a timing belt and there are several pages of instruction
on the net and a couple of different kits with all the required parts. That
said, my 98 is in the shop right now for a new timing belt and camshaft
seals. I would have done it myself (along with my mechanic father) but those
seals can be tricky and I didn't want to spend the next 3 days up to my
elbows in engine guts.

Hmmm... I guess I'm getting older and have more money than time to devote to
these things. <sigh>

BTW: The <estimated> bill is going to run about $1,200US. But that is
cheaper than fixing the valves when they kiss the pistons. $21 for each
intake valve (18 count) and $71 for each exhaust valve (12 count) = WOW!!!
