Doug, I ended up doing the following to my 2000 1.8T Avant
manual..lot's of fun indeed!
APR chip (switchable back to stock)
snub mount
boost gauge
slotted front rotors
mintex red box pads
KNN filter
replaced all the vacuum hoses with silicon hose
Bailey Aluminum Bypass Valve
Bosch tri-tip copper plugs
Pretty tame considering what you can do to these motors, but the car
was a lot of fun to drive and handled pretty well too (sports
suspension)..but then I ended up buying a 2.0T, so didn't go 'full
tilt' as it where..
