No, the motor seems to be working. More likely, it is
either the switch or the wiring to the motor.

I don't know about the A4s, but in the 200s, the wiring
in the rubber boot tends to become brittle and break after
years of flexing with the opening and closing of the door.
Those wires carry power to the window motor. If they break,
or make intermittent contact, bad things happen.

Also, a bad switch mayh cause intermittent operation. Some
people have had luck squirting contact cleaner into the
switch, while others have opened the switch up to clean
the contacts. And the smart/rich ones buy a new switch.
