While I absolutely agree with you, I also feel that there is no other 
way you'd have a manual transmission A6 Avant in the US.   So if you 
want one, the only choice is the Allroad.

That being said, there are quite a few guys that track their slightly 
modified Allroads (420 mod, H-sport bars on hard, good tires).  They 
aren't as bad as you might think.  Mass doesn't mean that it won't 
handle well....(of course, lighter is better in this department, the 
Allroad is hardly a slug and no heavier than say an S6 Avant.)   I 
think you're assuming that the suspension is just this insanely heavy 
thing and it's not really.
