No one is arguing that. (unless that 3000 lbs car has a poor
suspension or a lack of power.) But we're not talking about 3000
lb cars here.
And, you might reconsider your Jeep Cherokee argument. An SRT8
Grand Cherokee won the SUV category of the One Lap of
America. Obviously didn't handle as well as a Porsche 997 GT3 Cup
car (hah...) but still, it got the job done. I think the correct
way to think about it would be, for an SUV is handles great.
Along those lines, for a 4000 lb station wagon, both the S6 and
Allroad handle great.
Heavy cars can be made to handle pretty well. Now brakes on the
other hand, that's usually the challenge. <grin>
