[A4] Front end links

I did the entire Meyle front end kit on our 98 A4 about 18 mos ago, too.
Also did the HD tie rod ends. Was a real b!tch, IMO - really mostly
because of the big pinch bolt for the uppers. So far so good. Of
course I would hope so its only been 18 months. I'm wondering if later
B5 cars got improved control arms or bushings....My '01 S4's front end
is tight as can be - ~52k mi....

One thing about the HD tie rod ends - I remember th edeler tech - who is
well known to be a good alignment guy - saying the HD tie rod ends kept
him from being able to proeprly set something that has to do with bump
steer. I don't know enough about the suspension geometry/alignment to
know what he was talking about - maybe somebody else here knows....

Andy,

I put the same kit on my 98.5 A4 and really like it. Of course, my
particular car got a recall about 6 months *after* I did the work, so I
missed out on the free work. If your talking about the Meyle kit, I was
very happy with the level of fit & finish and they included everything
you needed right in the box. Then again, maybe your car is on the
recall list for front end suspension stuff. have you checked for a
recall?

Later...
