[A4] Question about acceleration/losing control

Hello,

I have a 1998 Audi 2.8 Quattro with about 110,000 miles (stick shift). I 
changed the timing belt about 20K miles back.

Of late I have noticed the following when I drive on 4th or 5th gear. All of 
a sudden for a few seconds I feel that even as I press the accelerator, I 
don't seem to have control over the speed of the car. Then after some time, 
I am able to.

Has anyone experienced a problem like this?
