[A4] A4 Oil Temp Sensor

Greetings All,

I've replace the oil temperature sensor on my 2000 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro. It is bolted to the underside of the oil pan. You will have to drain the oil (or it will drain) when you remove the oil temperature sensor via its' two small allen head screws. Mine was replaced because I sprayed WD-40 in the connector to clean it and inserted it before the WD-40 dried. This caused the oil sensor to go bad. Once replaced, the oil temp gauge works fine.

  Hope this helps.

  Best Regards
  Jonathan Papamarkos

Sounds like that may be right. On my (B6) A4 the big "printer cable like
thing" bolted to the bottom of the oil pan is the oil LEVEL sensor. The
sensor on the oil filter housing is the pressure sensor. I'm not aware of
an oil temp sensor on my car. For sludge concerns see
