I had a misfire on my '98 1.8T a few years back - ended up being the POS
- little electrical thingy on the airbox - I'm thinking newer cars have
that thing built into the coilpacks

Hah, we are all having similar issues it seems.  Mine is misfiring on
cyl 3, and I also suspect ignition problems as the culprit. Any details
or hints you may have would be very helpful!
