My issue is definitely a bad coil. Moved the coils around, and the
problem followed the coil. Measuring block 15 in the VAG-COM. Buying
the VAG-COM tool just saved me a ton of money! Couldn't have figured
this out without it.
Maybe this is already in the collective wisdon, but I didn't know it..
So here it is so that it may help someone else: Symptoms were
flashing MIL, really rough running. Misfires on a single cylinder at
idle. Misfires would get a bit better when revved up, but the car was
barely drivable.
Also, I have the L version on all 4 cylinders. As far as I know, the
coils are all original. Should I replace all the coils, or just the
bad one?
Thanks,
James
