I'd think about doing an exhaust system as well.  I drove my [former]
'98 1.8t for a month prior to installing a Supersprint cat-back exhaust.
The exhaust _definitely_ made a noticeable difference.  The Supersprint
system I had was very quiet - you wouldn't know it wasn't factory, and
was subtle looking.  I paid about $650 back in 2000.

Planning on having my 01 1.8T chipped next week.  It's at about 115k
miles.  What should be done to it before then?  It is up to date on
maintenance, and I've replaced all visibly worn hoses.  Aside from a
coolant leak that is getting fixed next week, it runs great and seems to
be in good health.

Company that sells the chip (getting an APR) also recommends installing
a TT diverter valve, which I will probably do since it is only $45.

Is there anything else I should do?
