good luck get'n any help from the car wash owner, they are all pretty much
use at your own risk, stay away from the brush ones, i had one rip the clear
off both the doors on my turbo rx7 :o( i was not happy at all.

you can probly polish/buff the trim out with some brasso or something? im
not real familiar with the newer b6 trim, i know my b5 S4 has a gunmetal
looking trim which i like better anyway, dont know if that's cause of time or if
that's how it was oem or not....

Hi all,
I own a 2006 A4 2.0T Quattro - a car I'm generally VERY happy with, and I
had my first issue come up that is strictly cosmetic, but troublesome. When I
wash my car, I always go to a brushless car wash if I use an automated car
wash. After taking my car to one of those automated car wash units that I've
used for years, I noticed that the chrome trim had become very
foggy/milky/discolored. When I stopped at my dealer to ask if anyone else had reported this,
the service manager told me he had heard of this happening with an A6 owner.
Before I jump the gun and contact the car wash owner (and I'm not very hopeful
they'll do anything,) I wondered if anyone else has seen this same
phenomenon? The question is, are we talking about poor chrome trim, in which case it's
an Audi issue, or a car wash detergent issue, in which case it's a car wash
issue. I know ideally, a nice car should be hand washed, but when it's
mid-winter, I sure as heck don't want to be hand washing my car!
