[A4] Remote went for a swim.

Hi Guys,

Went kayaking last weekend and found out the hard way that the zip-lock bags
don't quite work as advertised. Either way, keys got way for my 98 A4 2.8.
The remote wont work. I didn't think that it would be a big deal it being
fresh water and all. I took the remote apart that evening, dried everything
out and noticed that the batteries died from exposure to water. Replaced the
batteries only today (2 days later) and to my shock, the remote still wont
work! Nothing inside looks corroded - the circuit board there is not very
complicated. What gives?

I think that maybe the remote got out of sync with the car and needs to be
trained again? If so, what is the procedure for doing that? Previous owner
kept the manuals :(
