You don't have to go that far.  Just remove the hose from the pump and blow
into it to force the locks to open.  I had a similar problem on my 90 and
that is what I did until I was able to replace the pump.

Recall back to the central lock vac-pump that I haven't gotten around  
to replacing yet. Well today went to try and fill up and of course  
the fuel filler door is locked.  I poked around the trunk and back  
seat area and could find no alternate release.  Is there anything  
easy for this, or am I going to have to remove the side trim panel in  
the trunk to access and open the fuel door?
