[A4] Tire Size Debate

But, isn't there wear on the diffs all the time anyway? I mean their job is
to compensate for different rotational speeds on the various wheels. I
could see if I had a 225x60 on one end of an axle and a 230x50 on the other
end - that would probably be bad news. But your saying that with all 4
tires the same manufactured size, only one axle is 5/32" smaller than the
other is going to kill a diff? Didn't we do the math somewhere around this?
Taking a look at the archives, I see that someone else was in my situation
and called AoA. They said as long as the sizes are the same, you should be
fine. But darn-it, now I'm thinking about performance and don't want my A4
to swap ends on me because of some differences. The RE950s are no longer
manufactured and the G009s are supposed to be their replacement, so I think
I would be alright with just 2.
However, I'm getting this feeling in my gut that tells me that I would never
be happy with 2 diff. types of tires on my baby. :/ I think I would always
wonder about this and it would probably drive me slowly insane. I'm sure no
one else on this list knows what I'm talking about. :) Anyway, if I buy 3
tires I get the 4th free and I think that might be too good of a deal to
pass up. The question is, can I sell the old tires for anything? I mean
they are probably 3 years old anyway but they still have some good tread on
them. I wonder if anyone on eBay would buy them - what am I saying, there
are people on eBay that would buy the contents of my garbage can. Hmmmm...
Thanx!
