unfortunalty the newer 02 and up have immobilizer, so in order to swap ecu's 
they need a special flash thats dealer only to accept the new immobilizer 
encryption to swap to another car, at least last time i checked there was no other 
way yet, its called a SKC FKC? or some crap,  if you search on aw or tex 
youll find some more info about it, its been awhile since ive looked into it
