I agree...3K is a little too premature....5K intervals with a good quality
synthetic and you should be good.
If you're going to buy one of the last B6 models, there should be a good CPO
available from a dealer with a 100K warranty...that should lessen your
concerns somewhat. My old B5 was a CPO with the 100K warranty, good piece of
mind if you plan on keeping the car for the long term..
