[A4] ABS Module....

So I think I'm adding another name to the chorus of people that have  
had this happen.  Driving over the last week or so, got the ABS light  
flashing and the brake light coming on or vice versa.

I know the module is a common problem, but would running a VAG-Com  
scan confirm?  Is this something that may be tracked back to a wheel  
sensor or pretty much a classic pattern indicating module problems?  
Is having it rebuilt a viable solution or is it best to buy a new one  
from a Audi (aka a manufacturer who apparently couldn't get it right  
the first time..fool me once..won't be fooled again)?
