Oh good call, David, you were right! I inserted the tab on the airfoil back into the channelon the blade, and it that's where the
pressure comes from to keep it on the windshield. Thanks.
However, since I still needed new refills, I took a ride over to Princeton Audi this morning. Turns out, in addition to these things
being made by gnomes in Germany, there was also a change made mid-year during the 2004 model year. I have the 'old' style.
And you don't just buy the refills, you buy the entire blade. And they are 'handed', but not marked as such from the factory. When
I purchased the 2 blades (they were $32.70 including tax), the parts guy asked if I needed a hand installing them. I told him that
I thought I could figure it out. He then proceeded to tell me how he broke a windshield installing a set! Then, as I was checking
out (and casting glances over at the R8 on the floor*) a salesman came up and asked if I needed a hand installing them! I told
him 'no' and he said, 'If you do, just knock on the service department door and they'll help you out'. Geez, how hard are these
things to install??
Well, turns out, a b*tch. I messed around with it for ten minutes before a tech coming out to pull in a car offered to help. I took
it. It's not intuitive at all. You have to push in to release the blade latch then wiggle it back and forth until it releases. The new
ones only go in one way but it's almost impossible to tell which way.
But dang, new wipers are nice!
*Oh what a sweet car. This one was a dark grey with lighter grey blades.

It looks like the end of the wiper is caught on the windwing. Free that
plastic tag at the blade's last joint? The wiper blade shouldn't be sitting
above the top lip of the wing.

Or the SS ribs in that hold the refill are seriously bent.
I don't own this model.
I haven't ever seen one before.
But that's my opinion.
