*correction: FCP for cheaper control arms (that quite a few people have had good luck with)

I'll echo what others have said - that is a big number for those items.

Complete fr susp re-do is like $1000 - $1200 all in, less if you go with...I think it's FRP (full kit is ~$300 - labor should be around ~$500 I think).
CV boots shouldn’t cost but a few (I know I can get then rebuilt for like $75 ea here in Denver Some sensors and brake pads...
Only thing I have no idea about is the rack. I'm thinking all that stuff should be no more than $3000 on high end.
And yeah a lot of it is DIY-able. If the front suspension is original that could potentially be very tough - I've done a few sets, but had an original 13 yr old set on the wife's Passat make me throw in the towel and call in reinforcements (pro's).

it’s in the shop. on the list of things that are totally dead:

- steering rack leak
- tie rod ends
- all four upper control arms
- headlight sensor
- left and right inner and outer CV boots
- coolant temp sensor
- upper radiator hose
- cruise control/signal stalk
- rear brake pads

$6000

it’s my local awesome indie audi-VW specialist shop

if i even keep the car, which are the parts for which aftermarket upgrades exist?
