[A8] All circuits in steering wheel are dead

2001 A8L -- I noticed my tiptronic could no longer be shifted via the
controls on the steering wheel, though it still works via the gear
lever.  Then I noticed my steering wheel heat doesn't work either.  At
that point, it was no surprise the radio controls in the steering wheel
don't work.  Heated steering wheel fuse is fine, which is all I've
checked so far.  I couldn't find a fuse for "steering wheel electrical".
Studying the Bentley CD is next.  Anyone have experience with what might
be the problem?
